On the afternoon of December 28th, Wang Shunhong, Secretary of the University CPC Committee, attended the 27th Party-Government Conference of the School of Marxism of 2022, and investigated the faculty construction of ideological and political theory courses, the employment and entrepreneurship of graduates, and other work. Wang Shunhong emphasized that the School of Marxism needed to further raise its political consciousness, equip the minds of cadres, faculty members, and students with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and resolutely construct and complete a specialized ideological and political theory course faculty. He added that through mind emancipation, reforming, and innovation, we must build the School of Marxism into a powerful front of spreading the Marxist theory and Sinicized and era-oriented Marxism, thereby continuously contributing new forces to the School’s development.
Wang Shunhong pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping in its core position attached unprecedented importance to ideological and political education work, as well as the construction of Marxist theory disciplines and talent development. The School of Marxism of colleges and universities nationwide had ushered in a marvellous development opportunity, and we must make great efforts to seize the opportunity and achieve accomplishments.
According to Wang Shunhong, strengthening the construction of the School of Marxism was the political requirement of the CPC Central Committee and an inevitable option for running a university of socialism with Chinese characteristics. This strategy was related to the fundamental education issues of who to develop, how to develop talents, and for whom to develop talents, which was a specific knob for the implementation of the “Four Services”. The whole university should further raise its political consciousness, and firmly support and strengthen the construction of the School of Marxism from the vision of realizing the strategic overall landscape of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the great changes in the world.
Additionally, Wang Shunhong stressed that General Secretary Xi Jinping put a high value on the construction of the ideological and political theory course faculty. Since the key to prosper the School of Marxism and ideological and political theory courses lay in faculty members, it was necessary to resolutely achieve political, ideological, and action consciousnesses of “Two Upholds”, and to construct and complete a specialized ideological and political theory course faculty.
Wang Shunhong also shared his view on graduate employment. In his view, student employment was a systematic project requiring bold innovation and reform. Therefore, we must sincerely care about and help students’ admission to higher-level education and employment, strengthen educational guidance to help students establish a sound employment view, and encourage students to update their knowledge base and develop more skills.
Having fully affirmed the achievements of the School of Marxism over the past year, Wang Shunhong urged the School’s faculty members and students to make persistent efforts and create new spectacles in the following year. Meanwhile, Wang Shunhong extended his New Year greetings and blessings to the whole School’s management, faculty members, and students.
