At 14:00 on December 4th, 2020, Southwest Jiaotong University’s 2020 Meeting and Communicating with Elites from all around the World Scholars Forum School of Marxism Forum was successfully held. This forum was conducted both online and offline and themed on Marxist Theoretical Innovation in the New Stage of Development and the Building of China with Great Cultural Strength. Participants in this forum were Professor Lin Bohai, Dean of the School of Marxism, Southwest Jiaotong University; Professor Liu Zhanxiang, Secretary of the CPC Committee, Southwest Jiaotong University; Professor Yang Zengdong, Assistant Dean of the School of Marxism, Beijing Normal University; Professor Liu Limin, Associate Dean of the School of Marxism, the University of Science and Technology Beijing; Professor Dai Yuqi, Assistant Dean of the School of Marxism, Zhejiang University; Professor Hao Baoquan, Assistant Dean of the School of Marxism, Northwestern Polytechnical University; Professor Zhang Jing, Assistant Dean of the School of Marxism, Hohai University; Professor Zheng Jie, Assistant Dean of the School of Marxism, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications; Yi Gang, Associate Researcher of Xihua Normal University; and representatives of young and middle-aged teachers and students of the School of Marxism, Southwest Jiaotong University. The forum was hosted by Secretary Liu Zhanxiang.
Firstly, Secretary Liu Zhanxiang introduced that the forum was mainly about academic exchanges and discussions on the topics of Marxist ideology construction in the new development stage, Marxist theoretical innovation, socialist core values’ leading of cultural construction, building of China with great cultural strength, and the cultivation of youths of the times, and the construction of ideological and political theoretical courses, and extended a cordial welcome to all experts, scholars, professors, and students participated in this forum.
Afterwards, experts and scholars gave wonderful keynote speeches. Professor Yang Zengdong explained the triple cognitive dimensions of the self-confidence logic of contemporary China’s roads based on the macro-history; Professor Dai Yuqi analyzed the prominent problems of ideological and political work in colleges and universities in the new era; Professor Liu Limin mainly talked about the systematic foundation of the road to build China with great cultural strength; Professor Hao Baoquan elaborated on the historical formation and internal logic of Marx’s communist thought; Professor Zheng Jie gave a speech on the theory and practice of ideological and political courses’ reform and innovation in the new era; Professor Zhang Jing reported on the ideologies of college students in the new era and the leading work of the Communist Youth League; Associate Researcher Yi Gang shared experience about conducting scientific research with the theme of talking about the road of scientific research; Professor Wang Jing, the professor representative of our School, lectured on the theme of analysis of the international spread of Xi Jinping’s Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era under the great changes.
During the seminar and exchange stage, experts and scholars from all over the country, and professors and students of our School conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges about the theme of the forum.
Finally, Dean Lin Bohai summarized the forum. First of all, Dean Lin expressed his gratitude to the experts and scholars for attending the forum. Dean Lin praised the speeches given by experts and scholars around their research directions for wonderful insights, because these speeches involved history and reality, theory and practice, and normative research and empirical research, which would provide great enlightenment and help for our professors and students in future work and study.
The forum came to a successful conclusion in a warm atmosphere.
